Famous attractions
Colonial Williamsburg is hardly the city’s only main attraction. No, there are tons of great spots to explore around the city like the Williamsburg Winery, Virginia’s largest winery, or the Virginia Musical Museum. Williamsburg is also home to two major amusement parks, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA, as well as some key historic sites like Historic Jamestowne, the first English colony in America, and Yorktown Battlefield, where the British surrendered the Revolutionary War.

Students in Williamsburg are served by Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, a top-performing district ranked as one of the best not just in the Norfolk area, but also in the state of Virginia. The district educates about 11,000 students in nine elementary schools, three middle schools, and three high schools. Williamsburg is also home to several institutes of higher education, including the College of William and Mary, the second-oldest college in America (after Harvard), and three community colleges.
